Anti-inflammatory recipe: Golden Mylk Latte

This bright yellow beverage contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds which offer many health benefits.

Turmeric and ginger have been shown to have potent anti-inflammatory process that have been shown to even decrease joint pain, which one study done on people with rheumatoid arthritis finding that 500mg of curcumin daily reduced joint pain more than 50 grams of a common arthritis drug!

I recommend this drink for the colder months but also particularly for when you feel your immune system has taken a knock and you feel a cold/ flu coming about.

Ingredients:

2 cups unsweetened almond milk/ organic milk/ coconut milk

1 piece turmeric, grated or 1 teaspoon turmeric spice

1 piece ginger, grated or 1 teaspoon ginger spice

½ teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon nutmeg

¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon coconut oil

½ teaspoon honey

Optional extras: collagen powder

Method

  1. Add the coconut oil into a small saucepan with the turmeric, ginger and black pepper until the coconut oil is slightly warm.

  2. Add the remainder of the ingredients into the saucepan and warm over low heat for 10 minutes until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

  3. Strain and enjoy!
